The 2013 Penn State Security Conference will take place on October 28-29, 2013 at the Nittany Lion Inn on the University Park campus.

DAY ONE (October 28): - Day One will focus on broader, more universal security topics and include topic tracks, tools demos, and networking opportunities.
- Prerequisites: Open to all Penn State staff, faculty, and students.

DAY TWO (October 29): - Day Two presentations will focus on security topics specific to Penn State IT staff.
- Prerequisites: Must be a Penn State IT staff member

How can the Virtual Machine Hosting (VM Hosting) staff and Security Operations and Services (SOS) help you secure your virtual server?

In this session John will cover what VM Hosting does for the Penn State community, what they can be asked to do, and what is expected from users to protect systems. The session will also cover networks, firewalls, hypervisor and mangement systems, operating system patching, application patching, and vulnerability scanning.
