The 2013 Penn State Security Conference will take place on October 28-29, 2013 at the Nittany Lion Inn on the University Park campus.

DAY ONE (October 28): - Day One will focus on broader, more universal security topics and include topic tracks, tools demos, and networking opportunities.
- Prerequisites: Open to all Penn State staff, faculty, and students.

DAY TWO (October 29): - Day Two presentations will focus on security topics specific to Penn State IT staff.
- Prerequisites: Must be a Penn State IT staff member

Info Sec Tech: Trends and Themes

Information security requires finding ongoing balance between control, compliance, and risk against convenience, culture, and behaviors. The backdrop of this need for balance is the evolving landscapes of technology, business factors, and users. We get to a point of equilibrium and it all changes again. This discussion will explore the impact of newer technology trends on information security - and the impact of information security on technology. How can we ensure the protection of university resources to allow our community to teach, learn, research, and provide services?
